No one knows a city as well as the people who live there, the ones who know where to find the best local shops with the coolest trinkets, hidden gem restaurants with must-try dishes or mesmerizing street art sprinkled along the landscape. America is full of communities who make their mark on their city, making them interesting places to call home and drawing in visitors from all over to see what sets it apart.
According to a list of "offbeat" American locales and "charming oddities" compiled by Reader's Digest, the quirkiest city in all of Georgia is Atlanta. The Peach State's capital city, ATL was recognized for its one-of-a-kind art installations and whimsical attractions.
Here's what Reader's Digest had to say about this unique destination:
"ATL may be best known as a sports town, but it's no stranger to whimsy. Case in point: Tiny Doors Atlanta, an art project placing tiny decorative doors in random outdoor spaces all over Atlanta. The wee doors when placed on a rock or tree look like portals to a fairyland. The project has sparked a community movement of copycat artists, turning the installation into a bit of a cute, quirky public scavenger hunt."
