Four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski predicted that the Kansas City Chiefs would defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, claiming Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's number while speaking exclusively to iHeartMedia this week on behalf of Bounty Paper Towels' Wingman campaign.
"I'm gonna go with the Kansas City Chiefs. You wanna know why? Because Vic Fangio is 0-8 versus Patrick Mahomes as a defensive coordinator and I don't think there's any stopping Patrick Mahomes especially when he has your number like that," Gronkowski said.
The Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, entering as back-to-back defending champions and having won three of the last five years. Gronkowski won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, who defeated the Chiefs in their first of seven consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances, and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defeating Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.
"They've been running with a dynasty for this decade now and you've just got to give them credit," Gronkowski said. "You've got to tip your hat to their excellence and just see what goes down from here."
Gronkowski spoke to iHeartMedia on behalf of the Bounty Paper Towels' Wingman campaign promoting their paper towels as the essential 'wingman' for football fans, anticipating record-breaking chicken wing consumption during Super Bowl LIX.
