In a new interview, KATHLEEN TURNER says Donald Trump has a "gross" handshake, claims Nicolas Cagewas difficult to work with, and says the cast of "Friends" was not welcoming.
There's a new interview with KATHLEEN TURNER that the Internet is obsessed with, because she pretty much just lets it rip. Here are some highlights . . .
On Elizabeth Taylor: "Bad voice, badly used . . . I don't think she was very skilled."
On being a "sexual target" in the '80s: "I understood later, from Michael Douglas, that there was a competition between him and Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty about who would get me first.
"None of them did, by the by. I don't like being thought of as a trophy."
On working with Nicolas Cage in "Peggy Sue Got Married": He was very difficult on set . . . Listen, I made it work, honey."
On working with Burt Reynolds in "Switching Channels": [It] was terrible. The first day Burt came in he made me cry. He said something about not taking second place to a woman. His behavior was shocking."
On meeting Donald Trump: "Yuck. He has this gross handshake. He goes to shake your hand and with his index finger kind of rubs the inside of your wrist.
"He's trying to do some kind of seductive intimacy move. You pull your hand away and go yuck."
On the cast of "Friends": I didn't feel very welcomed by [them] . . . [They] were such a clique. But I don't think my experience with them was unique.
"I think it was simply that they were such a tight little group that nobody from the outside mattered."
Asked about their acting skills, Kathleen said, quote, "I won't comment on that."
(Kathleen played Chandler's gay, drag-queen dad on "Friends".)
(You can read the full interview here, and you SHOULD. It's honest, it's funny, and it's informative as hell. I think we've just witnessed Kathleen Turner's transformation into NATIONAL TREASURE.)
