There's a high school senior in northern California who was arrested on Monday for a meltdown over a Make America Great Again hat.
She's a 17-year-old named Jo-Ann Butler, and she goes to Union Mine High School in El Dorado, California. On Monday, she yelled at another student and grabbed his MAGA hat because she says, quote, "That's a racist and hateful symbol."
And then, when her English teacher tried to escort her out of the classroom, she SLAPPED him on the arm.
She just got a one-week suspension, and she's facing two counts of battery.
Her father, Chris Butler, said, quote, "I don't agree with grabbing someone's hat and verbally talking to them in that way. But as far as the issue being brought up, maybe this is something that needs to be brought up."
(Obviously it's hard to take politics out of this story. But perhaps this is less about politics and more about millennials and post-millennials being spoiled, whiny, rude, disrespectful, entitled, and soft.)
(If parents aren't more mindful, American kids are going to get their tender butts repeatedly spanked by the more disciplined nations and cultures of the world.)
