You'll Be Able To Watch Elton John's 'Rocketman' At Home As Early As August

"Rocketman" UK Premiere - Red Carpet Arrivals

Elton John's hit fantasy musical biopic, Rocketman, will soon be available for fans to enjoy at home.

The film will be released as a digital download on August 6. It will come out on Blu-ray and DVD on August 27.

Both versions of the film come with bonus material, including 10 deleted and extended scenes, four extended musical sequences and even singalong tracks for 13 of the songs in the film.

Behind-the-scenes features include interview with Sir John, as well as the filmmakers and the cast. A jukebox feature will allow viewers to skip to any musical sequence they want.

Rocketman was a labor of love for John, who praised the movie's writers and director Dexter Fletcher for ensuring it was as "honest" as possible.

After a strong opening weekend in late-May, Rocketman became one of the highest-earning music biopics ever in June.

The film's success also served as a boon to John's music sales, which couldn't hurt interest in his (mostly sold-out) 'Farewell, Yellow Brick Road' tour.

John's highly-anticipated autobiography is scheduled for a release this fall.
