Stevie Nicks Laces Up Her Skates In Tribute To Viral 'Dreams' Challenge

Stevie Nicks showed her appreciation for a Fleetwood Mac fan in Idaho whose viral TikTok video set to "Dreams" inspired countless parodies and sent the 1977 hit soaring back up the charts.

Rather than attempt to skateboard down the highway like TikTok user Nathan Apodaca did in his original video, Nicks is seen sitting on a piano bench in her video singing "Dreams" to the record while lacing up a pair of roller skates with a jug of cranberry juice beside her.

"Afternoon vibe. Lace 'em up!" read Nicks' caption, a nod to Apodaca's "Morning vibe" caption in his original video, which has been liked more than 50 million times on TikTok.

She also tagged Apodaca himself to the delight of her followers.

Nicks' video comes after her longtime bandmate Mick Fleetwood amplified the viral effect of the original by creating his own tribute.

Fleetwood personally thanked Apodaca himself last week during a virtual meeting arranged by BBC News.

The Fleetwood Mac co-founder and drummer said that he and his bandmates "owe" Apodaca for the success of his clip, adding that he personally is heartened by the sublime joy of the whole thing.

"It's such a great story, and so needed," Fleetwood told Apodaca. "In days that are really challenging...it makes people smile, and I'm so happy to be part of it. Congratulations on a wild, wild skateboard journey that has led us to talking today."

Apodaca was on his way to work one morning in late-September when his truck broke down after driving some 320,000 miles. Instead of waiting for help, he grabbed his Ocean Spray Cran-raspberry juice and hopped on his skateboard to ride the remaining 2 miles to the factory where he's worked for 20 years. He opened TikTok while rolling down a hill and created the beloved clip on a whim.

The popularity of the clip has earned Apodaca millions of new followers on TikTok. Ocean Spray even thanked him for the free advertising with a brand new truck and a tons of free juice.

"I feel blessed and I appreciate you," he told Fleetwood. "It's just awesome."
